Massage and PEMF Therapy

What is PEMFT Pulse Electromagnetic Field Therapy Using PEMFT is said to stimulate cell metabolism, increase oxygenation, and reduce inflammation. This action is known to help with little to no adverse side effects! Pumping oxygen into the blood cells and toxins out. In some cases a detox can happen. It's important to keep well hydrated both before and after a session. This is like a massage on a cellular level.
What is ESMT Equine Sports Massage Therapy   Massage therapy that focuses on our Equine companions, both for the horse that's in a show ring or blazing the trails. Helping them to perform optimally and reduce the chance of injury by maximizing range of motion and decreasing muscular restrictions. Horses are often times asked to perform maneuvers that can cause repetitive stress injuries. Like human athletes, they can benefit from maintenance bodywork as well as recovery treatments.
PEMF AND ESMT TOGETHER When applying both Massage and PEMF together we are able to cover both outer and inner layers of muscle on the client. Pin pointing the exact points of inflammation, muscle soreness and stiffness. Breaking up the tight muscles and allowing for more mobility as well as freedom of movement without pain.
When not to do PEMF?If you or your beloved pet are pregnant it's not ideal to do a PEMF session. There has not been enough research in this area. If an animal or person is actively bleeding. Because the wave stimulates the blood cells this could increase the bleeding.  If you or your animal has an implanted battery device. (Like a pacemaker or defibrillator )The waves can shorten the battery life.
When not to perform an ESM?When cancer is present or the treatment of cancer, there is not enough evidence or research to support if massage can play a roll in the spread of cancer or not so we take caution and opt to not give cancer patients a massage. Unless a vet says it's ok. Note: it is OK to perform PEMF on cancer patients so long as a Dr or Vet approves.
It is important to have a well established relationship with our trainers, vets, farriers, chiropractors and our therapist to have a well rounded athlete, they give us so much it's important we have their overall wellness in mind♡ I hope this answers some questions but please feel free to contact me with any questions 😊
